Revival!
I apologize for leaving my makeup diary to dry, but I am back and plan on blogging more. Now that I have extensive time to dedicate to growing my viewership, I am working on becoming more engaging and bringing a rookie perspective to all things pro makeup related. Although I've been doing makeup for five or six years now, I still have so much to learn and so many bumps to smooth out. So, on the note, You will most definitely be seeing more of me.

Although lately, some of my tests have been duds. However, that's the point of the test. I have some shoots coming up and I'm trying to be as optimistic as possible. My last test didn't impress me much and to be honest, it left me feeling a bit disappointed. But, I've not given up hope. Nope, this time, this time I will make this work.
Woo, boy was this a tough decision. But yes, yes I've decided to not buy makeup unless absolutely necessary. That mean, unless I don't have it, and it's for a job, I'm not buying it. If something runs out, I'll replenish it. All those new makeup lines coming out? I'll have to admire them from afar :(. But, that doesn't mean I'll stop blogging. I still have clean brush shampoo to talk about.
Make Up For Ever has really come to the forefront in the last few years. Google them if you don't believe me! From their superbly pigmented lipstick to the their pro grade eyeshadows, they've made a stamp on the makeup world and show no signs of leaving anytime soon. In the past few months I've gotten my grubby little hands on a few MUFE products, but the one product I seem to use the most (in all it's variables) is the Mat Velvet.
Now, it's awesome, don't get me wrong. But, like all brands, they're not without faults. On normal skin it settles beautifully. Smooth even light coverage with the potential to build coverage if that's what's needed. However I find that on certain types of skin, it doesn't perform quite as well (oily and dry skin). Other than that, I use it religiously on lighter skin. Purchase MUFE Mat Velvet at your local Sephora or online at www.sephora.com Welp, that's all for now folks. Catch ya on the flip side!! I've been busy y'all! But still, that's no excuse, I know I know. FORGIVE ME!! I've some product reviews to post here and will definitely become a bit more invested in this here blog-o-mine. Be sure to come back for more deets later on this week!
It's time for a more professional take on my blog, so I'm switching servers in 2013. However, I don't know how I'm going with as far as blog hosting sites go. I'm still doing bits of research. My portfolio will also be moved to a more professional hosting site. It's time I step it up a bit. Here's hoping that your holidays are grand and the new year treats you to all your wishes. Have a good one ya'll.
The thing is, I know there's this "standard" for blogging and I'm not one for rules. I want to treat this as my very public diary. So I may not reach a plethora of people, no big whoop.
However, once the new year kicks in, and my tripod gets here (along with my lighting system, new desk, and makeup vanity) I'll do more makeup reviews/swatches of products I've gotten over the last months. So, look forward to that and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you all!! But I didn't get much ^_^. I'm proud of myself. I bought some clothes from Ebay, Got the Grey Friday lipstick from MAC, and got some items from Lisi Cosmetics.
There is an off chance that I ordered two Grey Friday lipsticks, so I'll be checking in on that come Monday morning. If not, oh well. A lot of your favorite brands (mine as well) will be slashing prices on most of your favorite items for this immaculate day!!
Like some of you, I'm on a tight budget. Being a working makeup artist, I look forward to the Black Friday/'Cyber Monday deals from makeup companies/brands! I'm looking forward to these sales because I have a list of things that I'm needing/that are running low. So, I don't have the luxury to splurge (super sad face). I'm only shopping at specific websites, for specific items. But, if you have more store/companies/brands that are also doing a BF/CM weekend deal e list them in the comments section and I'll add them to the master list. Black Friday/Cyber Monday: http://www.maccosmetics.com http://tinyurl.com/shoproyalbrush (20% for civilians 60% off for Royal Red Members) www.cinemasecrets.com/-professional-cosmetics/ (50% off select products) www.smashbox.com (20% off) www.ulta.com (an assortment of deals) http://www.illuminarecosmetics.com/ (20% off) http://www.stilazzi.com ( 20-62% off most items) A goal realized, I've been signed by The Makeup Artist Agency. It still hasn't hit me yet, I haven't broken down in tears but little by little, the hysteria is building. I'm super thankful to those who helped me reach this point. It's the first of many goals to be realized
