Woo, boy was this a tough decision. But yes, yes I've decided to not buy makeup unless absolutely necessary. That mean, unless I don't have it, and it's for a job, I'm not buying it. If something runs out, I'll replenish it. All those new makeup lines coming out? I'll have to admire them from afar :(. But, that doesn't mean I'll stop blogging. I still have clean brush shampoo to talk about.

Make Up For Ever has really come to the forefront in the last few years. Google them if you don't believe me! From their superbly pigmented lipstick to the their pro grade eyeshadows, they've made a stamp on the makeup world and show no signs of leaving anytime soon. In the past few months I've gotten my grubby little hands on a few MUFE products, but the one product I seem to use the most (in all it's variables) is the Mat Velvet.
Now, it's awesome, don't get me wrong. But, like all brands, they're not without faults. On normal skin it settles beautifully. Smooth even light coverage with the potential to build coverage if that's what's needed. However I find that on certain types of skin, it doesn't perform quite as well (oily and dry skin). Other than that, I use it religiously on lighter skin. Purchase MUFE Mat Velvet at your local Sephora or online at www.sephora.com Welp, that's all for now folks. Catch ya on the flip side!! Of fashion of course ;). My Saturday was packed with full figured divas, amazing clothes, laughter, and makeup. 14 ladies, one makeup artist. A few of never wore anything more than mascara and they entrusted me with the task of making them even more radiant than they were. Kathleen Starita of Kstar Photography was there as my assistant and she did an awesome job. If she were not there, I know it would have taken me forever. So, thank you Kathleen for all you hard work. And also, thank you beautiful 14 women who trusted me to beat your face to the heavens. Here's hoping you were pleased. ![]() Thanks to Audria "Nubia" Arnold and Ashley Dean for entrusting me with the task of making beautiful women, even more stunning. The best thing I could have done as a blogger is to subscribe to other blogger's who I admire and who love what they do. I was on BEE's blog when I lucked upon a PRO Artist application section. In it where cosmetic companies who offer PRO discounts to working make up artists! I jumped on it! Already, I've been approved for:
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) 20% Pro Artist Discount Stila (40%) Camera Ready Cosmetics (Between 15-40% off select products) YABY (40%) Le Cosmetique (15-30% off select products) Ferro (40%) Illamasqua (40%) Coverfx(40%) I've yet to apply to: Make Up For Ever NARS MAC BOBBI BROWN Naimies Beauty Center It's only been a week since I started filling all of these out and I'm so excited and honored to have been accepted into all of the companies who I applied for! Good old Fashioned Cold Cream from Ponds. My Granny used to slather this stuff on, then had the audacity to walk around the house scaring the beejeebus out of me. Me being five, had absolutely NO idea way she was walking around oozing funny smelling goop. Now that I'm 25, I see it's purpose. It's an awesome 3fer: makeup remover, cleanser, and an awesome moisturizer. I picked up a basic little jar last year in October and it's lasted me for this long. Of course, it could be because I use Popsicle sticks to scoop some out.
The only "down" side to this would be the smell. Some people are very sensitive towards smells so this one probably won't be the 3fer for you. BUT, fret not! Sephora has a bucket load of twofers! Philosophy has some, Mercier, and others too! |
